The Big Five Performance At The Barnyard Theatre

Joe Social and I are regulars at our local and twice a year the owners take all the regulars on a little trip. This weekend we got treated to the Big Five Show at Barnyard in Willowbridge.

A Tribute to Tina Turner, Rod Stewart, Michael Jackson, Elton John & Madonna. Imagine Elton, Michael, Tina, Rod and Madonna on one stage in one show, singing number one hits from the last 6 decades of pop music!

The show featured a talented 10 piece cast including James Dobson as Elton John, Ramaine Barreiro Lloyd as Tina Turner, Taryn-Lee Hudson as Madonna, Tiaan Rautenbach as Rod Stewart and Erni B StClair as Michael Jackson, who totally blew us away.

My other favourite was the guitarist, Marcus Thatcher who certainly knows how to handle his err guitar. Mostly I think the men generally couldnt stop talking about the saxophone player, Kirsty Madgin. On the drums was Alan Lloyd and on the bass guitar was Bongane Sokhela, or “Mr. B”.

The group sang songs like Billie Jean, Thriller, Crocodile Rock, Your Song and Simply The Best as well as Proud Mary, Maggie May, Sailing, Like A Virgin and Material Girl.

Again, bless my blackberry for capturing moments such as these…
