Julius Puppet Worth More than Just Change

7 May

And so the bidding has begun.

There have been some curious bids, like the man who bid 1 Zim Dollar. I’m not sure whats that’s actually worth today, but it’s less than the next bid up, two Chappies.

The cheapskate award however, goes to the dude who reckons Nandos must PAY HIM to get rid of the Julius Puppet.

Seeing as the proceeds are apaprently going to charity, the serious folk soon got involved (Nandos reserve price was apparently R5)

Nando’s will give the money raised from the auction to the Self-Help Development Organisation, which empowers young men by enabling them to finish matric and learn mechanics, electrical engineering and woodwork skills. Julius would be proud.

Nando’s marketing manager Sylvester Chauke said he hoped “Julius” would raise at least R100 000 for the charity. “We don’t want to just give him away for nothing. He is a very prized possession indeed and we’ve become quite attached to him.”

Bidding has ended, the best bid will be published in The Star and on IOL.
