Well the best of the bunch in my opinion was Jason, to me he was the most consistent and someone who could maybe have a career in the industry. Here’s to another Idols wash out, pity. Well done Sasha-Lee though, representing Cape Town.
Thank God, no more Mara for a year!

Jason has a far bigger career ahead of him than Sasha. He is a musician as well as a fantastic singer.
I have to agree with you there. I think maybe the fact that the actual voters on the show are kids who probably wouldn't know a musician if he / she was right in front of them, is what it's all really about. It would be interesting to see what an older voting demographic would vote for.
CONGRATS to Sasha Lee…your voice is unique and I see you alike South Africa's answer too Celine Deon…you go gal…and make it happen. If you believe in you…it will….. I think as a singer and a misician Jason is way beyond that of an idols winner. The prizes would have certainly benefited him, but I think the exposure he's received is going to benefit him much more. Every song he sang was so so good, very mature performances. That could have been the problem with the younger voting puplic. My 83year old mom is in mourning because he did not win. Should they maybe have dressed him a bit more funky? Sasha lee is a lovely looking girl and I think she will also develop into a very good singer.. I would love Jason to have won, but I think we are going to be proud of Sasha Lee as our 5th season Idol. I pray she keeps her feet on the ground and her commitment as a christian as her guide. sasha lee meets all the requirements of the new market,she is young fresh and with an artist like her she can sell allot of records in the next ten years to come. She is young and can learn allot,she can still be moulded and she can be bent and taught. Although Jason is the better musician and artist,his voice and texture and warmth of his voice stands out of the crowed,nevertheless congratulations to sasha lee,may she shine like a star in her generation and may her voice be a blessing to those who hear her sing.
Jason was the Idol for 2009, I don't care what the show says or what the votes did, I tried voting for Jason everyday and on the Sunday all my sms'es came back, so did Jason actually get all the votes that was sent for him? I promised myself that I will not watch Idols again if Jason did not win this one and that is what I will do, Jason was the winner not Sasha and that is the end of it, She only had one goods performance trough out the show, I mean come on…..
I hope they recount the votes and that Jason is the winner. I'm not to sure what they gonna say to Sasha but I dont really care.
Jason is the winner, we all know it. Why do you think they have to re-count? I bet millions of fans desputed the fact that Sasha- Lee won. I totally freaked out on Sunday when Jason was sent off after not winning the title that clearly belongs to him. GIVE HIM HIS PRIZE. HE IS THE IDOL. Never the less, I will never watch it again. That Leisel is so flipping irritating. And besides that, how could such a mistake occur? Very very sad…Jason we LOVE YOU….YOU are amazing
