Last night, we were all feeling very brave and The Twinmasproducer in his moment of braveness decided to go put a note on this car.

It was all a bit of a laugh posing for pictures when all of a sardine he got caught. True to his witt and form, he laid one in this chick. When she asked him what he wanted from her he said R200 because that will be the price to release her car once a wheel clamp is put on. At this point a whole crowd of people had gathered to watch this spectacle from their balconies and we just could not help but laugh.

Long story short, she moved her car, she still parks scew but atleast she’s not inconveniencing everyone in the building anymore, and thus we woud like to thank the Twinmassproducer for solving the problem altogether and for being the Parking attendant of the year!

I got something in my eye…

I recently wrote an article on my BFF and how lame it is that she has moved away from Cape Town. Life is just too dull without her and we would like to have the sparkle back in our lives!

I went through some pictures on my trusted Blackberry and came across some errr pictures. Let’s just say, we  make the chicks in this video look like amateurs!

As you know  The LooseWheel was our ambasador for National Unibrow day, and like me, she liked to braai and talk kak. But she is gone and I think this is why the weather has been so KAK in Cape Town Lately.

So this article is for her to remember all the crazy people who love her down here. Mahpicky the Side Kicky and I really miss her and we think it’s time she comes back. Bring back your sunshine, bring back your laughter , bring back your crude and twisted sense of humour and bring back our mountain!

District Judge Howard Riddle said that Dewani can be extradited, pending approval from the UK’s home secretary.

Riddle said that “only by going to stand trial can Dewani be acquitted & clear his name. That may improve his mental illness”.

Just another money making scheme methinks. Do we really need this?

This comes just a few months after Gauteng launched a new series of aluminium number plates.

Currently, each province has its own number plate design, colours, and numbering scheme.Responding to a parliamentary question from Congress of the People MP Dirk Feldman, Transport Minister Sbu Ndebele said uniform number plates would help South Africa achieve uniformity with vehicles from the region.

“All the plates would denote the Republic of SA , with the relevant province being allowed a certain portion of a plate wherein they can display provincial logos,” he said .

That’s all fine and dandy but do our citizens really need a new system that IS going to cost us money whatever the esteemed minister says? How much is the goverment going to pay for this to happen? How about spending the money on service delivery so that we don’t face a mass uprising by the unemployed masses, or is this something the government wants to happen?

Bad Idea.

The night spot, which opened in January this year, is operating without liquor, entertainment and business licences.

The club, which is owned by business tycoon Kenny Kunene, is housed at the Cape Royale Hotel in Greenpoint.

It is believed the club is operating on the hotel’s licences.

Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said nightclub management will be issued with a notice.

“As for the business licence, when they get the first notice it will give them a warning and a minimal time to comply. Failing so, we will take them to court,” he said.

Smith said the SAPS Liquor Unit will also issue ZAR management with a final notice.

Malema, Sports Minister Fikile Mbalula, senior party member Tony Yengeni and Free State Premier Ace Magashule went to the township of Rammolotsi in the wake of the ANC’s own open-toilet saga, promising to enclose them.

The ANC entourage gave themselves a two-month deadline on May 10 to have all the toilets enclosed.

But the toilet outside the home of wheelchair-bound Kleinbooi Ndezi, 60, has no roof or ramp for him to access it, which the leaders promised him.

He has quite a list of achievements to his name, however email ettiquette is obviously not amongst them as evidenced by his faux pas last week. It all began with an email from a certain Mr Jaap Kelder – an Afrikaans member of the Taxpayers Union and FF+ supporter, which was sent to the DA enquiring about comments made by Lindiwe Mazibuko with reference to land reform.

The email apparently raised Mr Trollips hackles and prompted him to forward the email to a fellow MP, Annette Steyn, with a message that read as follows:

“Please answer this Asshole once and for all, deal with the Afrikaner issue that he raises and tell him to stop masquerading as a rate payer organization especially if he is the reincarnation of the AWB, KP, FF+ , NAZI. Stuur die IDIOOT in sy moer in asseblief. Athol.”

The only problem is he hit the reply button instead of forward…

Which is why the best piece of email advice I have ever received is – and always will be – NEVER send an email when you’re angry.

The government is pumping more than R1 million into the restoration of the Castle of Good Hope – raising concerns that the country’s oldest building is falling apart.

The maintenance started in May and includes the reinforcement of walls and fixing of roof leaks. The decision to do the work was taken after slates on the Leerdam bastion came loose a few months ago.

Seems to me that a once a decade restoration is about right. I question whether it’s wise to host the J&B Global party there on Friday this week.

Gabriël Fagan Architects, which did extensive preservation work at the castle in 1999, have again been called upon to do the restoration work at the historic building.

Local adventurer, entrepreneur, and humanitarian, Paul Erskine, is currently in training to ride 1,000 km across Mongolia on horseback for 11 days in August.

The Mongol Derby is the longest horse race in the world, consisting of riding semi-wild Mongolian horses through the remote wilderness of Asia, and Paul’s doing it to raise money for the orphaned and abandoned children of Fairhavens Babies Home in KwaZulu-Natal.

Paul has always had a passion for extreme adventure. To date he has crossed the North Pole on a sled pulled by huskies, visited five of the seven wonders of the world, climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, travelled to 72 countries, and dived all over the world. And he still has a lot to tick off on his Bucket List.

This particular adventure though is fuelled by another passion close to his heart – his desire to make a difference in the lives of abandoned babies and toddlers.

Appalled at the high rate of abandonment, Paul has been inspired to raise money to benefit the children from Fairhavens Babies Home. Every rand donated will go towards nurturing and uplifting the lives of abandoned babies and orphaned children in South Africa.

The hostile Mongolian landscape will be Paul’s hardest challenge to date though – 20 riders testing their physical and mental mettle against the hardiest opponent – nature itself.

Paul’s on a rigorous training programme in preparation for the Mongol Derby – riding and gym every day, burning a minimum of 1,000 calories. Paul weighed 92.5 kg in January and has to get his weight down to 85 kg to race. He’s now sitting at 78 kg and is only allowed 5 kg’s of extras such as a tent and food.

The history of the Mongol Derby is closely tied to Genghis Khan’s rule over 800 years ago. Khan created a postal system, in which horsemen travelled thousands of miles across Asia, stopping briefly at nomadic homesteads to replenish themselves and select a fresh steed before taking off again. Mongolia’s postal system boasted more than 300,000 horses – a display of ingenuity and wealth that helped form the greatest connected empire in history.

From the 6th of August, Paul will race semi-wild horses borne of the same bloodline as these ancient steeds, while self-navigating his way across 1,000 km of Mongolia’s steppe, only stopping change horses every 40km.

By the end of the Mongol Derby, Paul will be one of a small handful of people in the world who can say they have ridden in the footsteps of Genghis Khan.

M-Net has launched a brand new campaign full of colours, creativity and music from South Africa’s favourite band, The Parlotones, “evoking” that Magic feeling.

The creation of The Parlotones’ new song, It’s Magic, cements a  partnership between M-Net and the South African superstars. It is the first time that the Parlotones have written a brand new song for a TV channel, as well as the first time in South Africa that a TV channel is creating a radio release as part of a brand new campaign. The Parlotones won three South African Music Awards last month.

“We are very excited to be working with M-Net again,” said the Parlotones.  “The use of the vibrant colours in the HD campaign delivered such amazing results, that when we heard about another opportunity to work with M-Net the song just came pouring out.”

“Kahn, the lead singer, was instrumental in writing the song. The whole Parlotones team was super excited to work on this project and even released the song as a radio single,” said Raphael Domalik, the band’s manager.

M-Net’s colourful glass petals used in their new look are moved around by an invisible force – they like to think of this force as ‘the Magic’. They say, It’s not something you can put your finger on, it’s a feeling – a mood. This is what the petals do for them; they represent the ‘Magic’ that has always been M-Net’s key ingredient. The motion is also beautiful to look at; the petals move unpredictably, they’re exciting to watch and completely unique.”

“We wanted something that was fresh and edgy and that looked nothing like anything done before for on-air imaging, and this 3D animation has achieved just that”, said Theo Erasmus, Channel director of General Entertainment South Africa.
