Last night, we were all feeling very brave and The Twinmasproducer in his moment of braveness decided to go put a note on this car.

It was all a bit of a laugh posing for pictures when all of a sardine he got caught. True to his witt and form, he laid one in this chick. When she asked him what he wanted from her he said R200 because that will be the price to release her car once a wheel clamp is put on. At this point a whole crowd of people had gathered to watch this spectacle from their balconies and we just could not help but laugh.

Long story short, she moved her car, she still parks scew but atleast she’s not inconveniencing everyone in the building anymore, and thus we woud like to thank the Twinmassproducer for solving the problem altogether and for being the Parking attendant of the year!

I recently wrote an article on my BFF and how lame it is that she has moved away from Cape Town. Life is just too dull without her and we would like to have the sparkle back in our lives!

I went through some pictures on my trusted Blackberry and came across some errr pictures. Let’s just say, we  make the chicks in this video look like amateurs!

The night spot, which opened in January this year, is operating without liquor, entertainment and business licences.

The club, which is owned by business tycoon Kenny Kunene, is housed at the Cape Royale Hotel in Greenpoint.

It is believed the club is operating on the hotel’s licences.

Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security JP Smith said nightclub management will be issued with a notice.

“As for the business licence, when they get the first notice it will give them a warning and a minimal time to comply. Failing so, we will take them to court,” he said.

Smith said the SAPS Liquor Unit will also issue ZAR management with a final notice.

He has quite a list of achievements to his name, however email ettiquette is obviously not amongst them as evidenced by his faux pas last week. It all began with an email from a certain Mr Jaap Kelder – an Afrikaans member of the Taxpayers Union and FF+ supporter, which was sent to the DA enquiring about comments made by Lindiwe Mazibuko with reference to land reform.

The email apparently raised Mr Trollips hackles and prompted him to forward the email to a fellow MP, Annette Steyn, with a message that read as follows:

“Please answer this Asshole once and for all, deal with the Afrikaner issue that he raises and tell him to stop masquerading as a rate payer organization especially if he is the reincarnation of the AWB, KP, FF+ , NAZI. Stuur die IDIOOT in sy moer in asseblief. Athol.”

The only problem is he hit the reply button instead of forward…

The government is pumping more than R1 million into the restoration of the Castle of Good Hope – raising concerns that the country’s oldest building is falling apart.

The maintenance started in May and includes the reinforcement of walls and fixing of roof leaks. The decision to do the work was taken after slates on the Leerdam bastion came loose a few months ago.

Seems to me that a once a decade restoration is about right. I question whether it’s wise to host the J&B Global party there on Friday this week.

Gabriël Fagan Architects, which did extensive preservation work at the castle in 1999, have again been called upon to do the restoration work at the historic building.

The show featured a talented 10 piece cast including James Dobson as Elton John, Ramaine Barreiro Lloyd as Tina Turner, Taryn-Lee Hudson as Madonna, Tiaan Rautenbach as Rod Stewart and Erni B StClair as Michael Jackson, who totally blew us away.

My other favourite was the guitarist, Marcus Thatcher who certainly knows how to handle his err guitar. Mostly I think the men generally couldnt stop talking about the saxophone player, Kirsty Madgin. On the drums was Alan Lloyd and on the bass guitar was Bongane Sokhela, or “Mr. B”.

The group sang songs like Billie Jean, Thriller, Crocodile Rock, Your Song and Simply The Best as well as Proud Mary, Maggie May, Sailing, Like A Virgin and Material Girl.

Again, bless my blackberry for capturing moments such as these…

The integrated rapid transit (IRT) bus service in Milnerton and Table View to Cape Town hits the road for the first time.

The city’s Kylie Hatton said buses will depart on the hour and a ticket will cost a commuter R10.

“For the first five days of the service from Monday to Friday the buses will be running directly between Table View and Civic Centre Station. Departing on the hour, every hour from 9am to 3pm,” she said.

She said the service will only run from 9am to 3pm this week.

“They won’t be stopping at any of the stations on the route. It will be an express service for the first five days, but from Saturday the buses will start stopping at all the stations and will be running according to our starter service timetable.”

Well, meet Ray Chaplin.  He thinks you’re soft!The 30 year old, Cape Town man has decided that the only true test of mental and physical endurance should involve a little more than a couple of days at the gym each week. Which is why he’s decided to circumnavigate the globe instead. Now we know what you’re thinking “nothing new there, been done already” and to some extent you’d be right. But Ray’s unique selling point is that he’s going to be doing a vertical circumnavigation, i.e. he’s crossing both the poles. Oh, and just to add a little spice to the task, he’s doing it with no more than his own body as the engine.

That’s right, Ray Chaplin plans to walk, paddle, cycle and ski the 75,000km journey in 80 weeks. And just so that you ladies out there don’t mistake him as being simply a tough guy, he’s doing it for a few very worthwhile causes chief amongst them preservation and conservation. His route will see him departing Table mountain in August, heading north through Africa, The Middle East, Europe, The Arctic, The America’s and The Antarctic and finally home to Cape Town taking in around 200 UNESCO world heritage sites and a few timeout’s to conduct some education initiatives he’s developed like self-sustainable computer centres and educational workshops for African kids.

And then he’ll turn some water into wine!

Bus Lanes through Milnerton

The City of Cape Town announced that its much-vaunted IRT (Integrated Rapid Transit) system is to be launched next Monday from Table View to the city centre.

Mayoral committee member for transport Elizabeth Thompson confirmed to the committee that negotiations between the city and three operators (from the taxi industry and bus companies) had been concluded and that the parties would sign a deal tomorrow.

A phased roll-out has been proposed to minimise risk and to allow training of staff and education of the public.

The system will start with off-peak trunk service (9am to 3pm) in Table View from May 9 to 13, followed by inner-city feeders from May 14 to 22 (5.45am to 10pm). Additional feeders will be introduced in Table View from May 21.

According to the city’s IRT business plan, eight taxi associations and two bus companies were involved in negotiations, and the value of their contracts would be determined, among other things, based on their relative share of the existing market.

Existing operators can choose to become part of the MyCiTi service or to be compensated for the business they will lose when the MyCiTi buses start operating.

Thompson said the city would spend R200 million on the service in the next year, while it expected to make R63m from the service in the next few years.

The operators would sign a 12-year-contract, said Thompson.

This is an awesome festival taking place in and around Riebeek Kasteel and Riebeek Wes.
